BURN YOUR MAPS is a family adventure drama in which an eccentric 8-year-old American child has an existential epiphany. Young Wes (Jacob Tremblay, Room) steadfastly believes that he is in fact a Mongolian goat herder. Not surprisingly, he is ridiculed at school and at home, supported only in a modest way by his open-minded mother (Vera Farmiga). When Wes meets a similarly displaced Indian immigrant studying to be a filmmaker, the new friend decides it is his destiny to assist the child in travelling to Mongolia and documenting the adventure. They journey together to the mysterious plains of Mongolia throwing the boy’s family into a panic. This panic only compounds current family issues and leads the boy’s desperate parents on a trip across the world attempting to make whole a family in spiritual turmoil.
