Be a part of a milestone year for one of Northern California’s most exciting annual celebrations.
Each year, dedicated volunteers help us produce this acclaimed festival. It’s a terrific way to get involved in the festival world and the local community, meet new people, and see great films!
In order to be a MVFF volunteer, you must:
- Attend the Volunteer Orientation (See dates below)
- Volunteer with at least two different departments
- Attend volunteer meetings and trainings for your shifts
- Be friendly, supportive, and flexible
In return for your time and effort, we’ll give you:
- An MVFF movie voucher for every shift that you work
- A free t-shirt
- A volunteer appreciation party at the end of the festival with a prize raffle
- A unique volunteering experience and the opportunity to see new international and independent films

NEW TO MVFF VOLUNTEERING?
Welcome, new volunteers! We use Shiftboard, an online scheduling site and database that allows you to manage your own volunteer schedule and sign up to receive email reminders. Register to volunteer at www.shiftboard.com/mvff by clicking on “New Registration” above the login boxes and wait to receive your welcome email with further instructions. The next step is to attend orientation. When the volunteer shifts are posted online, you will be able to sign up for shifts for the festival!

Log in to www.shiftboard.com/mvff and make sure that your contact information is up to date (click on “My Account”). If you do not remember your password, click on “Forgot Password” above the login boxes and you will be sent a reminder email. If your login information is up to date and you are not receiving MVFF volunteer emails, check your junk folder to see if our emails have been flagged as spam.
