MVFF44 Spotlight on director Denis Villeneuve & screening of Dune
We’re delighted to announce the MVFF44 Spotlight program on Academy Award®-nominated director Denis Villeneuve and screening of Dune!
Denis Villeneuve will be on hand for this special onstage conversation, screening of the hotly anticipated Dune, and presentation of the MVFF Award on Wednesday, October 13 at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center in San Rafael.
Denis Villeneuve is an Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker best known for having directed Blade Runner 2049, Arrival, and Sicario. His astute attention to detail and unique visuals have established Villeneuve as one of the premier filmmakers working today.
Dune, starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, and Oscar Isaac, is a mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, telling the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.
Tickets for this special event will go on sale to members of the California Film Institute beginning September 12 and General Public on September 16.
