Shelley is your first point of contact for all publicity inquiries.

Please do not announce your film’s selection at MVFF until the full program has been announced in September. If your film is to be announced prior to this, we will notify you individually.

If there are specific members of the press you would like to notify, please let us know. If you have your own publicist, please have them contact Shelley to introduce themselves as soon as possible.

We encourage you to let us know of any areas of special interests (i.e. food, cycling, China, spirituality, local personalities, music, etc.) as well as related writers/reviewers/bloggers/organizations/affiliations that would provide a niche marketing opportunity in relation to your particular film.

PRESS & MARKETING MATERIALS 

All digital marketing materials – film stills, director headshot & bio, trailers – are to be submitted to [email protected] via email, or your own cloud hosting service, such as Dropbox or Hightail.

PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED MATERIALS UPON ACCEPTANCE TO THE FESTIVAL –
FINAL DEADLINE FOR ALL MATERIALS IS AUGUST 16, 2021.

MATERIALS SHOULD INCLUDE:

Film Stills (See specs below)
Director’s Biography (100 word max)
Director’s Headshot (See specs below)
Trailer
Poster Art (High-res digital file) – If available

Specifications for these elements are outlined below.

FILM STILLS  (3-5 images)

Please provide a minimum of 3 different high resolution images/stills from the film – At least one MUST be in horizontal format.

When uploading images, please use the following protocol: FILMTITLE_filmstill#

Please include a text file noting photo credit and annotations for all included stills, as appropriate.

These images will be used in our print publications and website as well as used by our publicity team in the promotion of your film.

DIRECTOR BIO  (1 per director)

Word document; 100 words max. each

DIRECTOR PHOTO  (1 per director)

High resolution director headshot for use on our website as well as used by our publicity team in the promotion of your film. Additional images of directors “in action” on the set are also encouraged.

When uploading images, please use the following protocol: FILMTITLE_directorname

Please include a text file noting photo credit, as appropriate.

TRAILER  – TECH SPECS

Please provide a trailer for your film in one of the following formats:

.avi  (Audio Video Interface)
.mov  (Apple QuickTime; qualty H.264 to ProRes)
.mp4  (Mpeg-4 video file; qualty H.264 and higher)

Please also share any link to your trailer that may be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo.

Electronic press notes are needed to help publicize your film. At a minimum, they should include a synopsis, production notes, cast and crew credits and a director bio.
